Senior Partner – David Doble

David Doble qualified as a solicitor in the UK in 1988.  Prior to establishing this firm, David was a full equity partner at the international law firm of Allen & Overy LLP, and a member of the international capital markets department there specialising in derivatives and structured finance.  He has specialised over the past decade in the rapidly developing area of securitised derivatives, repackagings, CDOs (in both cash and synthetic forms) credit-linked and equity-linked notes and a variety of hybrid structured instruments.  In particular, he advised (from 2003) a syndicate of international banks in developing the iTraxx (credit index-linked) note product that has emerged as the international benchmark for credit-linked products.
His clients during that period included many of the major financial institutions involved in developing and structuring such transactions and products including ABN Amro, Barclays Capital, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, Fortis Bank, JP Morgan Chase, Royal Bank of Canada and Royal Bank of Scotland.
David has also, in recent years, conducted in-house training sessions for a number of investment banking clients, covering the legal and regulatory aspects of structured products and credit and equity derivatives.  David is cited as an expert in the field of credit derivatives in the first edition of “The Creditflux Inside Guide to Who’s Who in Structured Credit and Credit Derivatives”.

Legal Consultant – Gillian Hogarth

Gillian Hogarth qualified as a solicitor in the UK with the International law firm Baker & McKenzie in 1990.  Her fifteen years of practising law have included periods in the London, Frankfurt and Sydney offices of Baker & McKenzie as well as prestigious in-house posts including Assistant General Counsel to General Re (1994-1998) and Director, Structured Products Legal Group for Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (1999-2001).

In addition to her work as a lawyer, Gillian authored “Are Swaps gambling contracts?” which appeared in the Journal of International Banking Law (February 1992) and co-authored “The 1992 German Master Agreement” also in the Journal of International Banking Law (February 1994).

Legal Consultant – Bill Morrison

Bill Morrison practiced law (since the 1970s) as a partner in a number of US law firms in London including: Leboeuf Lamb (where he opened its London office) and Sidley Austin Brown & Wood (where he headed its investment funds practice). During this period, Bill specialised in investment funds, capital markets/structured finance and project finance.

Stephen Turvey has, over the last ten years, provided strategic advice to over two hundred law firms, investment banks and European institutional investors in his capacity as an independent consultant.
